Ford F150: The Vehicle That Takes Me Anywhere Anytime

Reported under Ford and Readers' Rides

The title doesn't suggest that other trucks, other than Ford F150, will not take their owners and passengers anywhere anytime, but this is how Robert Strong from Owensboro, Kentucky describes why he bought his 2003 F150 FX4 and why it's color is special for him.

Original source: TorqueNews.

This truck is important to me because it was the first vehicle I bought with without help from my mother and father.

What is unique about it is I hardly see any burgundy Ford F150s with this trim package. I am not saying I never see them. It's just I usually see other colors.

I bought it in May of 2006 after I graduated from boot camp (USCG).

It was in great condition with low miles. You can tell the previous owner took care of it. I put a 5 inch Rough Country suspension lift, a 3 inch body lift, and dual exhaust on it.

I bought this Ford F150 truck simply because I wanted a vehicle that would take me anywhere anytime. This truck been through the mud, snow, sand, and clay. It has never left me stranded because of mechanical failures.

I am originally from Bay St. Louis, MS. I've always had cars, but after Hurricane Katrina wrecked havoc on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I learned the value of a truck like Ford F150. I enlisted in the United States Coast Guard shortly afterwards and after I graduated I bought me a dependable truck.

Currently, I plan on re-gearing it, putting a set of 38/15.50/20 tires, and a full exhaust (long tube headers, high flow cats).
