1999 MERCEDES BENZ ML320 miles: 166000 automatic transmission?

The price is 3500 dollars. What do you think? Is that too many miles? Should I look for something else ? Opinions?

Get something else. The ML-Class is Mercedes least reliable class. It was plagued with issues since the first model from the late 90s. It looks like you possibly found a first model ML-Class, which will give you A LOT of problems.

Keep in mind, Mercedes are expensive to maintain and repair. The average oil change for a Mercedes can easily run $200.

If you want a Mercedes, avoid the ML-Class.

the mileage is ok for the age of the car but just remember that any major repair will cost more than you paid for the car. new tires will cost half the price of the car. insist on a car fax and have a mechanic check it out

if you are budget minded i would forget about an old Benz or BMW . the repair cost are too high.
What is the MPG on that car ?

But then if you have no repairs ,? who knows , it could go another 100,000 miles no problems.

3500 is not a lot of money, that is the most you could lose if something expensive happened and choose not to repair it..
