They can end up that way if you try to cut corners by taking it to someone who doesn't know what they are doing i.e. not an authorised Chrysler dealer. But in my experience, that's the same these days with any car brand of built since they started making PT Cruisers - 2001, I think.
Anyway, what are you assuming here? If they get regular maintenance, why would they need fixing? Or are you talking about smash repairs? They are a solid little car - I don't imagine smash repairs would be any worse than any othe car, and probably a bit better, actually.
