How would I reset the security indicator light on my 2011 Mazda CX-7?

I purchased a 2011 Mazda CX-7 iSport about 1 1/2 weeks ago. When I arrived home and removed the key from the ignition today the security indicator light on the instrument panel began flashing rapidly and continuously, which had never occurred prior to today.
Turning the ignition on, then off (with either Retractable Type Key Transmitter that I have) does not appear to reset it. (Per the manual's instructions.)
(Earlier today I showed a friend my new car and hit the transmitter 'lock', 'unlock', and '!' keys several times in a relatively short period of time.)
I can start the engine with the key in the ignition, but the security light returns when I turn the ignition off.
How can I resolve this?
Thank you.
