94 chevy corsica reverse makes noise?

No other noise in any other gears. Smooth otherwise.
Automatic transmission
It's a dull groan/grind in reverse when not moving.

type of noise would be a plus. w/o that, check fluid level. engine running, warm, neutral/park, level ground.

if it's kind of a fast clicking, to maybe a whine, i'd say the beggining of a torque converter issue. but check fluid level. maybe change fluid and filter b4 calling anything outright bad. and check old fluid for particulate matter. iffin you see any, put some fluid on a paper towel or in a jar. go to an auto parts store that has a knowledgeable person you trust. see iffin it's a normal amount or iffin there's too much. or take it to any local ase shop and inquire. too much maybe a sign of excelerated/abnormal internal wear.
------------
even if it was a manual trans. prolly wasn't originally listed anyway. "additional details"
syncros would not be the issue. not in reverse.
