I drove off with a huge ring of keys of the back bumper of my truck(work keys, trailer ramp keys, racecar keys, PO Box etc etc etc). Lucky for me that some kids found them and brought them back to me after I posted ten signs up. I was happy I got my keys back and the kids were happy with the $40.
My Zephyr had a perfect place to set a can down near the license plate on the back bumper. I was in the shop once sat a beer down there and forgot about it. The next day I drove 30 miles to town and went grocery shopping. After coming out of the store to put my grocery's in the trunk I found the beer still setting there. Dammed lucky I didn't get picked up. The grocery boy got a big laugh out it though.
In 1987 I lost my keys. I know that because our three month ol 86 Z28 keys were on the ring. We did the usual, tear up the entire house looking for them, search the garage, the other cars, other people's houses, etc. No joy. So it was off the the key shop for duplicates.
A couple years passed and I was playing around in the front yard with a garage sale metal detector BEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!! There's my keys! They were a little tarnished but they all worked! :derr:
